Is there any money left?

The internet, and my part in its downfall

Promotional T-shirts have to be the right size and not muddy!

This is the latest installment in the gripping serialization of promoting my Devon directory. You know, when I started putting this journal online I was worried it might catch up with me - no chance, it seems to be getting further behind all the time!

In any case, this entry sees more of the earliest listings going in, and the arrival of my free promotional T-shirts from .

Not bad for a Free Promotional T-shirt! I got the T-shirts from , and I actually think they look quite nice - very appropriate for the country-ish / green theme!

5/10 Added the shop listings. Feels like I’ve been doing them for hours, but when I counted there were only 4 new ones! Arrgh! It’s exactly like doing unpaid data entry work.

Added a new poll, which was slightly more fun. Only thing is, I can’t yet bring myself to delete the old one. Hm.

I meet a friend for lunch, and traffic requires me to wait next to the Cartridge World man, who is out for a cigarette, so I offer him a listing and he seems pleased.

The t-shirt is much too big for my friend :( She offers to wear it anyway, but it looks terrible, and makes her look huge, which isn’t good for anyone! So I take it back, as the next size down is already on its way in the post anyway. Maybe my dad will fit the big one.

I also add a listing for my friend the glass artist, then find I haven’t got her email address to tell her. Oops. We may have their phone number if I can find it from my husband later.

The artist whose work was in the coffee shop emails me, so I guess he wasn’t the person who was there after all. So I reply, explaining what’s on offer and what’s free at the moment.

Also emailed a textile artist whose work I was admiring at the Creative Stitches show, offering a free placement in the Featured Artist spot because I liked her picture so much.

Added some more light coloured backgrounds for the listings.

Throughout the day, I find various things to fix …sigh.

Added Low Carbon Exeter events and emailed them about a listing and ecards.

Worked for the rest of the evening on a B and B website for a customer.

Saturday 6th Oct. Allyn wears his t-shirt to take the kids to the wildlife watch group, but they get hopelessly lost, covered in mud, and don’t even see anyone! Poor boys, it was not a great trip out apparently, there were even soldiers shooting all around them.

At least when anyone can actually see the t-shirts they are nice!

Posted more in Hedir forums and discovered I hadn’t been notified about replies to my site submission. Lots of positive comments, in fact enough to get the site approved when the time comes - hooray for something good happening!

While posting on Hedir I also find another 2 free (reciprocal) directories and put the site into those.

Modified my OU signature link and posted in the ‘cafe’ forum for my new course in web server maintenance.
