An Internet Business Card is a short, single page website, and for many purposes, it can be all you need. It's there to give a friendly or professional impression and provide contact details and an email link for people who already know the URL (website address). When is it used?

When is an Internet Business Card used?

Sometimes an Internet Business Card is used as a shorter alternative to a holding page while a bigger website is in development. Used in this way, it creates a better impression than 'Page Not Found' or 'This domain has been reserved' and can be a useful early step in testing out design ideas for your website. However, with this little text content, even an Internet Business Card that is otherwise search engine friendly can't be counted on to provide good search engine results. If this is a key concern with your web project, you could be better off with a more text-rich 'Small Brochure Website' or a holding page, or you may prefer to direct attention to your website at particular times using search marketing and advertising tools such as Google AdWords.

Domain Name registered, with ownership details in your own name
Unlimited Data Transfer / month
Storage for a single ‘Internet Business Card’ web page
Two email addresses using your domain name
Free dial-up Internet Access

Option 1: Custom Designed Website Development:

Setup of a single page ‘Internet Business Card’, to include any or all of:

Your company name
Your logo
Your name
Your address
Your phone number
Your email address and / or and email link for visitors to contact you
Your choices of fonts
Your own artwork or photo, or
Your choice of clip art
Your choice from a photo library
Your choices of text colours
Your choices of page colours
Your motto or slogan
A short description of your business
Up to 10 keywords for search engines
Submission to search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN

Design and setup of your Internet Business Card can either be completed yourself using our interactive program (coming soon), or by viewing templates and emailing us your requirements. (Logos and other images will need to be emailed or posted to us). We will also be happy to work from screenshots (eg from PowerPoint or Publisher), descriptions, sketches, diagrams, crayon drawings, or other pictures of any kind.

Option 2: Template (Economy) Website Development:

Choose a template from our free selection (see right), and email us the template name, along with your own replacements for each photo and for all the text that appears.

Alternatively, purchase an HTML website template, for example from our web design templates shop and email us the zip file along with your text and image replacements. Text passages must be approximately the same length in order to look the same in the template, and photos must be the same orientation as those appearing in the template.

If you are looking for a Flash template, there are other options available through the shop for customising these, as we do not currently work on Flash.

Prices:

£60 set up fee for the customised website or £45 for a standard template website (excluding any costs for purchasing templates). This price includes '.co.uk' domain registration or transfer, one year of web hosting, and one-time submission to search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Free changes during the first two weeks after completion
Web hosting and domain name registration after the first year renewable at £1 / month for .co.uk domain names or £2 / month for .com domain names, payable annually in advance
£5 discount off set up fee for including a text link back to Beach Web Hosting

Extras for this package:

£10 for .com domain name registration or transfer
£10 per image for image processing services
£20 to install website statistics
£2.50 / month for virus protection for your email addresses

Edits and Updates:

£20 to change your business card template after the first two weeks
£10 per set of changes to text, fonts, and colours after the first two weeks
£10 to change an image after the first two weeks
