Beach Web Design Shop: Internet security for Home Offices
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website shop. I'd like this to be a useful reference for anyone who's thinking of starting a website, as well as hopefully making us the occasional commission! My customers are mostly small businesses and startups (like me), so I've added business services they might find useful. If there's another type of product you'd like to see investigated and reviewed on here, please contact me and I'll see what I can do.
Internet Security for home PCs and small home offices
Once you've got your computer connected to the internet, you'll need security software to protect your computer against security threats. This is especially important if you've got broadband, as the computer will be online for longer times, putting you at risk from viruses, worms, trojans, hackers, phishing emails and spyware. (If you're not sure what 'phishing' is, check out the scams section of my blog). Other common examples are emails that look as if they come from eBay, PayPal or your bank, but are designed to collect your bank details and other secure information.
Virus checkers, firewalls, spyware protection and parental controls can either be installed separately or as an all in one 'internet protection' suite.
The financial website Motley Fool (UK) has published a very clear overview of internet security and gets straight to the point in recommending solutions. Click here to read 'Who Will Steal Your Online Money?' from Motley Fool.
